Efficacy of Multiwave Locked System Laser on Pain and Function in Patients with Chronic Neck Pain

Multiwave locked system (MLS) laser therapy utilizes the synchronized emission of 808nm continuous laser and a 905nm pulsed laser, in such a way that it is postulated that MLS enables greater penetration and positive clinical outcome than single-wavelength low-level laser therapy (LLLT). This synchronized emission also works to avoid the associated heat build-up present in other class 4 laser systems. The following randomized placebo-controlled trial, worked to assess the efficacy of MLS laser therapy and exercise in comparison to LLLT therapy and exercise, and a placebo and exercise control group. The results of this study showed that over a six-week period both VAS and NDI decreased across all treatment groups, but MLS saw a significantly greater decrease in pain and disability scores. “MLS laser therapy in combination with exercises is a more effective therapy for CNP compared to exercise plus LLLT or exercise alone"
