The World's First Flexible DR Panel
Do you live in fear of damaging your DR panel? Whether through knocks or drops, traditional DR panels can be easily damaged and in a profession such as equine vetting, hazards are easy to come by! We are so proud to introduce the world’s first flexible Csl X-ray detector, specifically designed for equine x-ray imaging, the XenOR 33-100W-flex.
What is different about the new XenOR 33-100W-flex?
Traditional DR panels are typically made of TFT glass, which is a type of tempered glass. Although designed to be more durable than standard glass, this glass is still susceptible to breaking if it is dropped or banged with enough force. The new XenOR 33-100W-flex does not contain glass and instead is made using a flexible substrate. This means it is much more robust, in fact almost (!) unbreakable, and much more able withstand the rigors of equine practice.
What else is beneficial about the XenOR 33-100W-flex panel?
Battery life
A long battery life is imperative for ambulatory imaging. The XenOR 33-100W-flex panel has a battery life of 8.5 hours which will allow up to 500 shots!
Pixel pitch
Pixel pitch describes the distance between pixels in an image. The smaller the distance between pixels (the lower the pixel pitch), the better the resolution of the image. In digital radiography, the optimum pixel pitch is between 100-150 microns. Although the human eye can resolve down to about 25 microns, at this pixel pitch, too high levels of radiation are required. At a large pixel pitch, less radiation is required, but the image will be grainy. The trade-off between exposure to radiation and image quality is optimized at 100-150 microns. With 100-micron pixel pitch, the XenOR 33-100W-flex panel guarantees maximum diagnostic reliability.
Ease of use
The XenOR 33-100W-flex panel has been designed specifically for equine use, with many advantageous features:
- Lightweight at 2kg
- Narrow margins (7mm) on two sides to facilitate hoof images
- IP67 protection (almost waterproof)
- Cycle time between images 3.5 seconds
What system does the XenOR 33-100W-flex come with and what about cost?
The XenOR 33-100W-flex panel can be purchased alone and used with almost all existing generators and set-ups. Alternatively, it can be purchased with the Leonardo DR mini II, a widely popular wireless DR solution for equine imaging, which includes a lightweight suitcase, laptop with HD touchscreen monitor, and professional acquisition software.
The XenOR 33-100W-flex panel is similar in price to traditional DR panels.
